Solihull Moors have taken their number of summer signings into double figures by agreeing a deal for former Grimsby defender Tyrell Warren. The 27-year-old right-back moves on a free transfer after leaving the Mariners at the end of last season and becomes the 10th new arrival at Damson Parkway in preparation for the new campaign.
What happened?
Warren began his career on the books at Manchester United and was a regular in the youth teams at Old Trafford before getting his senior breakthrough at Boston United. After spells with FC Halifax and Barrow, he moved to Grimsby in the summer of 2024 and made 73 appearances in his two seasons, helping the club reach the League Two play-offs, in which they were beaten by Salford City.
Why it matters for Solihull Moors
Warren is the fifth player to join Moors this month following defender Jevon Mills, goalkeeper Nathaniel Ford, midfielder Rio Shipston and teenage striker Ben Wodskou. The signings are a boost for the team as they prepare for the new season, with their next fixture being against Woking at home on 2027-02-17.
What comes next?
Solihull Moors will be looking to build on their recent signings and make a strong start to the new season. With Warren's experience and skills, they will be hoping to make a push for promotion in the National League.
