Solihull Moors have completed the signing of Oscar Rutherford from Dagenham & Redbridge, strengthening their squad for the upcoming National League season. The 22-year-old defender joins the club after attracting interest from several EFL clubs. Moors boss Matt Taylor said Rutherford is a fine athlete with a very bright future. Taylor thanked the club's chairman and board for their support in securing Rutherford's services. Rutherford started his career at Plymouth's Academy before moving to Eastleigh, where he played over 70 times and won the Young Player of the Year award. He then joined Dagenham & Redbridge, making 48 appearances and scoring a goal against Solihull Moors in the final game of last season. Rutherford's arrival follows the signings of Dan Creaney, Ben Worman, Cameron Green, Tyler French, and Brad Nicholson. Meanwhile, midfielder John Bostock's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent. Rutherford is looking forward to working with Taylor and contributing to a successful season. He was impressed by the club's facilities and positivity, knowing immediately that Solihull Moors was where he wanted to play his football. With Rutherford on board, Solihull Moors are gearing up for a strong National League campaign. The club's ambition to be promotion contenders is clear, and the signing of Rutherford is a significant step towards achieving that goal.
