Marvin Johnson has rejoined Solihull Moors on a short-term contract, with Elias Kachunga also signing a deal until January. The two experienced free agents arrive as the club sits 23rd in the National League with seven points from twelve games.
Johnson, 35, returns to the club where he began his career in 2009. He left Port Vale in the summer and will stay at Moors until early January, having also had a brief spell with the club last October. His career includes spells at Motherwell, Middlesbrough, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford United, where he made 55 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists. He won promotion to the Championship with Sheffield Wednesday in 2023.
Kachunga also signs on short-term deal
Elias Kachunga, 34, has also signed a short-term contract. The forward, who began his career in Germany before moving to England a decade ago, brings promotion pedigree from his time at Huddersfield Town and Cambridge United. He won promotion to the Premier League with Huddersfield in 2017 and the EFL Trophy with Bolton Wanderers in 2023.
Both players are expected to bolster a squad that has won two of its last five matches. The team's most recent result was a 2-1 win over Newcastle United U21s, where Kachunga provided an assist. Their next challenge is a trip to face fifth-placed Worthing on Saturday, a key fixture in the club's battle to climb the table. Fans can view the full upcoming schedule on the club's fixtures page and check the current standings.
The deals for Johnson and Kachunga run until January.
